Description

an electro-analyzerThe Electro-Analyzer E1000 apparatus from Eberbach is the laboratory standard for the electro-deposition process, which is used to determine lead, nickel, copper, zinc, antimony, cadmium, and other metals. The unit occupies a 15″ x 17″ table space and features a stainless steel front surface and a finished steel case that is 30″ high. The apparatus is safeguarded from corrosive fumes and spillage by the front panel. No components that are electrically corrodible are situated in a manner that could potentially cause material to enter the cell and affect the results. The unit is capable of providing a maximum of 10 volts and 10 amps of DC power at each of two locations, allowing for simultaneous measurements. The amount and direction of current flow at each position are indicated by center-zero voltmeters (10-0-10V) and separate ammeters (0-10A). The polarity of the electrodes is altered by polarity reversing switches. Potentiometers regulate the current delivered to each position by individual power transistors. AC and DC circuits are safeguarded by in-line fuses. A split-phase induction motor operates the stirrers at a consistent speed of 620 rpm. The glass stirring rods can be easily vertically adjusted with the help of hollow spindles. Individual switches with pilot lamps regulate the power supply to each stirrer and the entire unit. This unit is designed to operate with heavy-duty platinum electrodes (45 mesh); however, lighter-weight electrodes may be employed. The stem is not deformed by the spring-loaded electrode holders, which can be positioned horizontally to center nested electrodes. A glass stirring rod may be replaced with a stainless steel rotating anode holder for rotating anode techniques. Two E1060 glass agitators are included with this unit.
