The gingiva former is affixed to the top of the implant during the surgical procedure to facilitate the healing of soft tissue, replicate the contours and dimensions of the natural tooth being replaced by the implant, and ensure access to the implant restorative platforms for impression and definitive abutment placement.The Dental Abutment is a connector that is placed on or built into the top of the implants to secure the crown.
