Product summary

A dedicated training system, the standalone Trainer AED, model number DDU-100TR, is utilized by AED training participants to acquire the necessary skills to prepare for a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) emergency. As part of a standard rescue protocol in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), training class participants are instructed on the use of an AED.

It is externally similar to a fully-functional Defibtech DDU-100 Series Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), which are known as the Lifeline AED and the Lifeline AUTO, in terms of form and operation. However, all rubberized exterior surfaces are red over-molding, rather than black, to clearly distinguish the unit as a training device that cannot be used to defibrillate a physical patient. The red packaging and labels of the rechargeable battery pack and reusable training pads indicate that they are intended for training purposes only.

A remote control is included with the Trainer AED. It enables the instructor to supervise training exercises and functions remotely. Trainer AEDs are initially configured to operate in Semi-Automatic mode; however, they can be altered to operate in either Semi-Automatic or Fully Automatic mode using the remote control. Furthermore, the remote control can be employed to select from six representative training rescue scenarios.
