Description

The HEKA ElProScan is an electrochemical probe scanner that is designed for a variety of electrochemical active surface investigations. It is a member of the scanning microscope family, which includes AFM, STM, and SECM. A data acquisition system, a bipotentiostat/galvanostat, and a positioning system comprise the system. Under solution, the positioning system relocates an ultramicroelectrode in three dimensions over an electrochemically active surface. The ElProScan can be utilized as a conventional SECM in this manner; however, it is significantly more than that. The primary distinction is the application of any electrochemical method (free programmable pulse protocol) at the tip, rather than merely the recording of tip currents. The sample can be subjected to an independent method during the protocol, which can be executed concurrently with the method applied to the tip. Consequently, ElProScan may also be implemented for the purpose of active electrochemical surface modification.input:
