Description

Dry, free-flowing products that are not prone to agglomeration may be dispersed in free fall. Powders and granules that are particularly coarse or sensitive are gently dispersed as they are accelerated by gravity as they enter the measuring zone. GRADIS offers particle size and particle shape analyses in a size range from a few micrometers to 10 millimeters in conjunction with the sensors HELOS and QICPIC for laboratory applications and PICTIS for industrial applications.. Fibres that are curled or elongated may be significantly longer.

This unit is optimal for products that do not require a high dispersing energy, such as crystals, sand, or granules. The 50 cm long fall shaft ensures an even distribution and control of the particles that are exposed to the laser beam, as well as unifies their velocity. All dry dispersing sensors are fed by VIBRI/L, a software-controlled feeding device. GRADIS is no exception. GRADIS is typically operated in conjunction with an extraction unit to facilitate the generation of laminar air flow and particle collection. The sample may be collected and repurposed following the analysis, if necessary.input:
output:GRADIS is capable of analyzing very coarse particles and sample quantities up to the kilogram range. The outlet slit of the fall shaft can be manually adjusted to a width of 2 mm, 4 mm, or 10 mm. This is employed in image analysis applications to ensure that the particles remain within the working distance of the imaging objectives. A centring unit with outlets of 1 and 0.5 mm is available for very fine particles. The 20 mm long fall shaft will be used to analyze particles that are up to 10 mm in size.
