Pachymeter

The PM1 pachymeter, the initial of Occuity’s groundbreaking handheld optical ophthalmic devices, enables clinicians and technicians to rapidly and effortlessly measure the thickness of the corneal center.

The PM1 pachymeter is user-friendly and is positioned at a comfortable working distance in front of the subject’s eye. The operator initiates scanning mode by touching the screen and then elevates the pachymeter to the patient’s eye in order to obtain a measurement. Feedback is provided by the PM1 pachymeter’s advanced Precision Optical technology to assist the operator in accurately positioning the device. The PM1 pachymeter automatically captures over 200 scans per second once it is aligned. It then immediately displays the average of these measurements, as well as the standard deviation (precision) figure.

The process is significantly more comfortable, safer, and efficient for both the operator and the subject, as there is no requirement to anesthetize or touch the eye, thereby eliminating the risk of infection transmission.input:
