output:Anaesthetic care is significantly influenced by supraglottic Airways (SGAs). Several modifications, additions, and variations have been developed since their introduction, and they have been in clinical practice for the past 25 years. They are not only beneficial for difficult ventilation during both in-hospital and out-of-hospital difficult airway management, but they also serve as a conduit for tracheal intubation. The second-generation or newer SGAs have been engineered to ensure a more secure airway seal and are relatively safer due to their ability to facilitate gastric aspiration. Consequently, the SGAs may be the most adaptable element in the airway management cart. The current body of literature on SGAs is primarily concerned with the use of first-generation SGAs in OT. Nevertheless, the application and scope of these devices are extensive. The safety of patients is contingent upon the possession of knowledge regarding specific devices and the accompanying data that supports their use.input:

Await the complete recovery from anesthesia. If the patient is biting down on the shaft, refrain from attempting to extract the SGA. In the majority of cases, patients recover without incident from SGAs.

In order to prevent damage to the airway tube or pilot balloon during emergence, it is advised to use a bite block in conjunction with the LMA.
