Utilizing either static or kinetic perimetry, the AP-600 Automated Perimeter is a contemporary diagnostic device that facilitates the rapid and precise evaluation of a patient’s visual field. This is one of numerous test strategies that are available. In static perimetry, the visual field of the patient is evaluated by briefly projecting a stimulus of known size, brightness, and location onto the interior surface of a roughly hemispherical bowl. The bowl illumination is automatically adjusted to achieve the desired contrast between the stimulus and the surrounding area. The retina’s sensitivity threshold in a specific region can be established using the AP-600, which also facilitates a rapid screening test. The reliability of the test results is enhanced by the numerous internal mechanisms that are integrated into perimeter software. The operator is continuously provided with detailed information regarding the test progress from the screen, and the testing of a patient is conducted automatically. The patient’s fixation performance is monitored using one of two possible methods: One method is the Heijl-Krakau technique, which involves the random presentation of stimuli in the blind spot region. It enables continuous automatic control of the fixation as a result of the pupil position auto-detection.
