FL400 fluorescence can offer assistance in this regard. When used in conjunction with the active substance 5 aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), it facilitates the differentiation of the tumor’s bulk and margins. The ability to confidently perform a resection is facilitated by the availability of additional visual information.
A tumor is present if it emits a red glow.
You and your assistant are afforded a high-contrast, bright view of glioma cells when using FL400 blue light mode. This facilitates the accurate delineation of tumor margins, enabling the resection of tumors in real time with confidence.
How does it function?
The patient consumes a 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) solution prior to surgery. The fluorescent PPIX is produced by the selective uptake of 5-ALA by glioma cells.
By pressing a button, the FL400 module is activated during surgery.
The FL400 module produces a well-adjusted observation spectrum and intense, homogeneous blue excitation light.
