Urine-feces separation is the primary function of the majority of these screens, which are made of plastic, glass, or a combination of plastic, glass, and metal. Numerous cages are available, but they are characterized by a high number of components, costly construction, a lack of adaptability, insufficient space for the animal, and incomplete separation of urine and feces.
