A. PurposeThe BioSci™ Disposable Virus Sampling Tube is designed for the collection and transportation of clinical specimens containing viruses or chlamydiae from the collection site to the testing laboratory. The system can be processed using standard clinical laboratory operating procedures for the culture of clinical specimens.B. Product DescriptionThe BioSci™ Disposable Virus Sampling Tube is classified into two distinct types: those that include swab(s) and those that do not. For routine procedures in the diagnosis of infections caused by viruses or chlamydiae, type with swab(s) is supplied in several pre-packaged collection sets that are convenient for customers. Each set consists of a package that contains a labeled screw-cap tube of Transport Medium and a peel pouch that contains one or two specimen collection swabs for the safe collection and transportation of biological specimens. The Model VM, which does not include a swab, is equipped with a labeled screw-cap tube that contains only the transport medium.C. Primary Compositions1. Mode of TransportationFor non-propagating transportation, one screw-cap tube containing a specified volume of Transport Medium.2. SwabsOne minitip flocking swab with a breaking point of 8 cm and one regular flocking swab with a breaking point of 3 cm.NOTE: The Transport Medium (without swab) is the sole service provided by the Model VM.D. Stability and StorageThe product must be stored in its original packaging at a temperature between 2℃ and 25℃ before use, and it has a shelf life of 18 months.
