Concentrators expedite the evaporation process by reducing the partial vapor pressure of the solvent just above the liquid’s surface. Blowdown evaporators operate by continuously expelling the saturated vapor layer from the air through a gas jet. The evaporation rate is accelerated by the immediate removal of molecules that enter the vapor state, as they are unable to return to the liquid. The blowdown technique is particularly beneficial for small sample volumes, as it is more time-consuming to perform nitrogen blowdown on larger samples and there is a risk of losing semi-volatile compounds. The evaporation process is further expedited by the samples’ immersion in a water bath with programmable temperatures of up to 100°C. Four models are available from LabTech, two of which are automated and two of which are manual. These models are equipped with a variety of tube sizes to accommodate a wide range of requirements.input:

It is intended for high-throughput sample concentration, such as sample preparation in drug screening, hormone analysis, liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry. The system utilizes the most advanced direct nitrogen heating technique, which is more efficient than the bottom dry block heating mode. This is due to the significant improvement in heating uniformity, which enables samples to be heated to the evaporation point in a short amount of time.
