When operating in serial mode, the Leica IP S can imprint slides in a mere four seconds per imprint. A resistant ink that has been specifically developed for Leica Biosystems ensures that imprints are resistant to physical wear and chemical exposure. The print resolution is consistently satisfactory, with good legibility, regardless of whether it is alphanumeric characters or 2D-Datamatrix barcodes. Barcode imprints facilitate the tracking of specimens throughout the entire histology workflow in laboratories. It also enables the rapid and precise identification of cases, thereby ensuring reliable archiving. The slide sorting process is automated to prevent specimen mix-ups with the assistance of an optional external magazine.
