In patients with onychomycosis, the GBOX 10F laser is employed, which emits a wavelength of 1064 nm (near-infrared). This treatment facilitates the elimination of nail fungus and the enhancement of the clarity of nails. The laser radiation penetrates the nail plate and reaches the nail bed, where the pathogens are located. This does not result in any damage to the nail or the surrounding skin. The laser radiation is only absorbed by the pathogens and the circumjacent tissue in the nail bed. Warming of the cell structures is a consequence of radiation absorption. The cells die as a result of the damage to their cell walls, which halts further growth.
