output:The 5 cm thick upper layer of the mattress interior is a visco-elastic foam that is softly moldable and fire-retardant (density 50 kg/mÂł). This foam equalizes tissue pressures to prevent the development of pressure ulcers. The base layer, which is 12 cm thick, is a rigid foam that is both fire-retardant and durable (HR foam, density 55 kg/mÂł). This foam provides postural support and facilitates patient movement. The two foam layers are affixed together and have a combined thickness of 17 cm.
