During the target selection phase, this technology assigns a unique identifier (UID) to each DNA molecule. UIDs assist in the identification and tracking of genuine mutations in samples, as well as the differentiation of these mutations from errors or polymerase or sequencing errors. In a background of 10,000 wild-type copies, PSS can detect mutant allele fractions (MAF) of 0.06% and higher with 95% certainty.
