Dexa Bone Densitometer

Planar scanners, such as the Density series bone densitometers, are comprised of a fixed table and a “U” arm that moves longitudinally from the patient’s foot to their head (X axis).

An assembly generator – RX detector is mechanically aligned on the arm to ensure that the collimated x-ray beam perfectly centers the detector.

A transmission belt and gears are employed to facilitate the simultaneous movement of the generator and detector along the transverse direction (Y-axis).

In this manner, an X-Y scan is conducted in a specific patient region of interest.

The density series are the first bone densitometers to utilize the patented suspended arm architecture. Density’s design is both practical and aesthetically pleasing due to its one-piece solid aluminum frame. This innovative feature enables the open space beneath the table, which facilitates the cleaning and maintenance of the device. This, in turn, enhances the sanitation of the room in which the unit is installed, as there is no longer any dirt or dust concealed beneath the machine.input:
