InTray DM is a dermatophyte medium that has been enriched and is employed to identify dermatophytes in clinical specimens.input:
output:Dermatophytes are fungi that belong to the genera Tricophyton, Epidermophyton, and Microsporum. They are capable of metabolizing keratin, which is present in the skin, hair, and nails of living hosts. The fungi are known to occasionally infiltrate the cutaneous tissue of the living host, but they rarely penetrate the subcutaneous tissue. Dermatophytes are frequently identified by the terms “tinea” and “ringworm.” In the event that dermatophytes are in growth, InTray DM is designed to generate a red hue.
Additionally, the medium is designed to generate unique colony growth with typical identifying characteristics that are visible both macroscopically and microscopically. The majority of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, yeast, and saprophytic fungi are inhibited by the medium.
