The temperature variable is a critical indicator of the subject’s physiological status. The continuous nature of the measurement is exceedingly challenging to acquire, and only a handful of restrictive devices (e.g., esophageal probes and rectal probes) enable the continuous collection of core body temperature data.

An electronic capsule, eCelsius Performance, that is both ingestible and capable of communicating.

The electronic capsule is shipped in a single unit. Upon activation, it transmits the core body temperature data in real time and continuously. The core body temperature is collected over a period that corresponds to the transit time (24-48 hours on average) by removing the single-use eCelsius Performance electronic capsule in a natural manner.

– The temperature data collected by the electronic capsule is received and stored by ePerf Connect, a “Gateway.” ePerf Connect can be worn as a wristwatch, and it transmits data to an Android application (ePerf Mobile) in real time (or a posteriori) via the Bluetooth (BLE) protocol. The Smartphone or Tablet’s screen can thus be used to display the data, and the csv file can be downloaded from the device at any time.
