A coaxial lumen catheter with a balloon at the distal tip, the Winch Kyphoplasty Balloon Catheter device is intended for single-use.
The balloon is inflated after an initial step of creating access and working cavities, and the device is subsequently placed in the vertebral body. This process compresses the spongy bone within the vertebral body and displaces the cortical bone.
This procedure restores the height of the vertebral body by forming a cavity that will be filled with bone cement to consolidate its height after the balloon is removed and deflated.
In order to facilitate fluoroscopic visualization during balloon placement, radiopaque markers are engraved on the inner stem of the balloon at the proximal and distal ends.
