Utilizing proprietary video processing technology, the Sony SI8000 Live Cell Imaging System quantifies and detects cellular motion. Data is collected using a high-performance video camera and analyzed in a label-free, noninvasive, and stain-free environment. It is feasible to observe standard culture plates that are employed in laboratories to preserve the physiological environment of cell cultures. Cell behavior and evaluation can be achieved without the use of staining.input:
output:The core technology of the system employs a distinctive motion vector software and high-speed video imaging to capture the motion of cells with high temporal and spatial fidelity. The user has the ability to establish motion detection points in order to capture the characteristics of moving images. The software analyzes the movement of each detection point in the movie and presents it as a motion vector after it has been captured. In contrast to other systems that infer motion from impedance or electrophysiological measurements, the SI8000 records actual cellular motion, resulting in more precise information that is less susceptible to false negatives and false positives.
Cardio and research models comprise the system. The Cardio model facilitates the quantification of cardiomyocytes by utilizing the average deformation distance, contraction and relaxation speed, and contraction and relaxation duration. The Research model facilitates the observation of live cell behaviors for a wide range of applications, including migration and viability assays.
