The BICKFORD PC-2 NON-REBREATHING SYSTEM is intended for the administration of anesthesia to small animal patients with a body weight of approximately 10 lbs. It provides the benefits of the side-vented breathing bag arrangement, in addition to the elimination of the unhygienic and irritating discharge of waste gases into the faces of operating room personnel. The PC-2 valve, which is located at the bag vent, enables one-handed resuscitation by controlling the vent with thumb pressure while squeezing the bag to manually inflate the lungs. The NRB elbow accommodates standard mask and endotracheal tube connections. Waste gases are disposed of by conducting them through a discharge tube to the floor or to alternative disposal methods. Washed-down volume is optimized by positioning the fresh gas supply tube in close proximity to standard connectors, provided that compatibility facilitates this. Systems should be regarded as non-conductive due to the fact that certain components are not conductive.
