Air / Irrigation Endoscope Valve

The air/water channel is flushed after the endoscopy procedure using the DEFENDO™ Single Use Cleaning Adapter for OLYMPUS® endoscopes. It is crucial to initiate the bedside cleaning immediately following the procedure. It is recommended that you commence the bedside clean by wiping and flushing the endoscope with one of our bedside cleaning kits. The DEFENDO™ Single Use procedure valve is removed from the air/water channel after the initial wipe and flush, and it is replaced with the DEFENDO™ Single Use Cleaning Adapter. The objective of the bedside clean is to eliminate as much bio-burden as possible in order to prevent the formation of biofilm. The underlying bacteria will be safeguarded from the chemicals that are employed to clean the endoscope by biofilm. The endoscope will be prepared for the subsequent steps in the manual clean and reprocessing process by a well-executed bedside clean.
